Is it time? Christmas dinners, the CAIZ way

Has she defrosted yet?

Mariah’s still defrosting, but we’re already cooking up your best Christmas party yet.

And yes, we know some of you are still sneaking off to the beach on your lunch break. But hey, you can always put flip-flops on your Secret Santa wish list.

Well… we cannot wait any longer. There are menus to create, tables to dress and a whole team to get together before everyone disappears into December.

But first: what kind of Christmas party are you actually craving? A proper sit-down dinner? A cocktail party with food making the rounds? An office transformation? Friends around your own table, with someone else taking care of the cooking?

Let’s find your kind of festive.

1. The “let’s make a night of it” dinner

Close the laptop. Leave the office. Go somewhere that feels like an occasion.

Maybe it’s a long table and a relaxed evening. Maybe it’s a cosy space with a little sparkle. Maybe you know exactly how you want the night to feel, but haven’t found the place yet.

That’s where we come in. CAIZ can help you find a venue that suits your group, budget and plans, and bring the catering and service format into the conversation from the start.

Because falling in love with a space is easy. Working out whether everyone fits — and how dinner gets to the table — deserves a little attention too.

2. The “this meeting could have been a dinner” office party

For once, we’re delighted it wasn’t an email.

Your office already has the people and the postcode. With the right setup, it can have a very good party too.

A communal area could become a buffet spot. A meeting room could host a dinner table. An open space could lend itself to drinks, conversation and small plates circulating through the crowd.

We’ll look at the practical bits together: space, access, available equipment and what the catering will need. Then we’ll shape the menu and agree on the setup and service support that makes sense for your evening.

You bring the playlist. We’ll help give the meeting room something better to do.

Out of office. Technically still in the office.

3. The “one more bite, one more conversation” cocktail party

For teams who’d rather mingle than spend the entire evening next to the same person they sit beside all year.

Think finger food, small plates and plenty of reasons to say, “Have you tried this?”

A standing dinner can move from little bites to more substantial dishes served in easy-to-eat portions. It gives people room to circulate while the food keeps coming.

The trick is getting the rhythm right: variety, replenishment and enough food for the occasion. Drinks and a few nibbles before dinner are one thing. A cocktail party that is dinner is another. We’ll plan accordingly.

4. The “a little bit of everything” buffet

There’s always someone going back for seconds. And someone saying “just a taste” while reaching for a bigger plate.

A buffet gives guests freedom to choose and works beautifully for a relaxed gathering, whether you’re celebrating at the office or in a hired space.

We’ll help build a menu that works together, with a layout that makes serving easy. Think comforting favourites, a few unexpected bites and a dessert table worth revisiting.

Let us know about dietary requirements during planning so we can shape the proposal around your guests.

5. The “my house, your cooking” Christmas dinner

Christmas parties don’t always come with an HR department.

Sometimes it’s friends finally finding a date that works. Sometimes it’s an early family celebration. Sometimes you just want everyone around your table without spending the evening checking the oven.

CAIZ can help you plan catering for your home: sharing dishes, a buffet or a more structured dinner, depending on your space and the evening you have in mind. Delivery and any on-site service are agreed as part of your proposal.

Your guests came to see you. It would be lovely if they could find you somewhere other than the kitchen.

Before Mariah hits play…

Tell us a little about your plans:

  • How many people you’re bringing together.

  • Your date, or a few possible dates.

  • Whether you have a space or would like help finding one.

  • Whether you’re leaning towards a seated dinner, buffet or cocktail party.

  • Your approximate budget and your guests’ dietary requirements.

You don’t need to have it all figured out. “Something lovely, relaxed and with really good food” is a perfectly good place to start.

Planning ahead gives us more room to explore venues, shape your menu and work through the details. Then, when December arrives, you can focus on the outfit.

and if you are still reading this... congrats! you used your coffee break well
